Franks & Beans
Today for lunch we had hot dogs, baked beans, and pound cake. Watching 50 kids eat hot dogs was like watching one of those Japanese shows. I'm pretty Josh ate 13 hot dogs, beating the Japanese hot dog eating champion by 1.5 wieners. Right before lunch 8th grade science students worked on some distance/rate/time problems and went outside to chase a frisbee around the lower field. We threw the frisbee, measured the distance, then sprinted, while Amiya timed us. When we got back to the lab we calculated average speeds, constant speeds, and figured out why the average is so much more useful than a constant speed (they had to endure a story of a long road trip from childhood). 9th graders watched a news story about contaminated drinking water, then did a short lab on the properties of water.
